Unfortunately Firehouse BBQ has closed, but Blackjaxx barbecue in Soldotna is open in the summers, serving up some delicious bites! They can be reached at (907) 262-2255. I highly recommend the one meat sandwich plate with brisket, coleslaw, and potato salad. My husband always gets the ribs and barbecue beans. Anything you get there is sure to be tasty. Pro tip: call in your order before to be sure you get what you want before it’s sold out!
I. Love. BBQ. Everywhere I go I seem to gravitate towards any place with pulled pork, brisket, delicious bbq sauce, and scrumptious sides. One of those places is Firehouse BBQ in Soldotna, Alaska. They are definitely in the top three BBQ spots I’ve ever been to, and by far the best on the Kenai Peninsula. Wondering why it’s so good and what you should have at this awesome establishment? Keep on reading to find out!
We’ve been regularly going to Firehouse for a few years now, and there are many many reasons we keep coming back. First off is the customer service. No matter how good the food is, if the service is bad I’m not going back. At Firehouse, their customer service is top notch. Michell and Terry, the owners of Firehouse BBQ, are awesome people that make you feel like family and are great supporters of the community. Their kitchen and wait staff are top notch as well, and are always efficient, courteous, and friendly. I cannot say enough about the great service at Firehouse, which matches their equally great food and awesome atmosphere (which is decked out in firehouse memorabilia and t-shirts from around the globe)!
I bet you’re wondering what the best things on the menu are. Well, to get to the point, everything on their menu is delicious. From the cheese sticks to the ribs, and everything in between, you can’t make a wrong choice here. My usual order goes a little like this. Drink? Sweet tea. Appetizer? Mac n jack bites. Entree? The Big T. (Pictured at the top!) Dessert? You’ll probably be too full, but any cobbler with ice cream is the bomb. With their consistently great food and service, fun decor, and convenient location, Firehouse BBQ is the place to go. Trust me, it’s the best!
